Helicopter crash in Santander kills 3

Three people abroad a helicopter from a value transport
company died on Monday when the aircraft had an accident in the
mountainous area of the northeastern province of Santander.

Gonzalo Ordoneztold reporters that the helicopter was delivering money
in the municipality of Betas and it had an accident due to unknown
causes minutes into the flight.

“All the people aboard died because
of the strong impact that the aircraft suffered. We have not been told
about any survivor,” Ordonez said.

Ordonez said rescue efforts were being hampered by difficult access to the crash site.

“Six rescuers went to the accident
site in an army helicopter, and because the accident happened in a very
high area, they had to reach the place walking,” Ordonez added.
