Cartagena Hay Festival announces 2011 program

The Cartagena Hay Festival released its program for the 2011 festival which includes Norwegian author Ketil Bjørnstadt, Canadian journalist Alanna Mitchel and a concert from Cuba’s Buenavista Social Club.

“This year [the festival is] more international than ever,” said festival director Cristina Fuentes, who said that the festival would bring together hundreds of people from journalism, literature, and music.

The festival will feature readings from authors and discussions between writers. In one session Spanish writer Juan José Millás willdiscuss his literary career and his recent works with El Espectador writer, Juan Esteban Constaín.

The Hay Festival is an international literature and arts festival that was started in the U.K. and is now held in ten cities around the world. This is the sixth Cartagena Hay Festival and will run from January 27 – 30, 2011. Tickets go on sale on December 9, 2010.
