Guerrillas launch series of attacks targeting petroleum pipeline and infrastructure

Guerrillas active in the northeast state of Arauca launched a series of attacks Monday night, targeting petroleum mining operations, two stretches of oil pipeline and military installations in the area.

Attacks included strikes against an oil mining operation, affecting an oil well Yarumal 44 and an energy substation, according to local media reports.

The were also reported attacks on two separate streches of the oil pipeline Caño Limon Coveñas, although no oil spills were reported as the pump has been turned off following previous attacks in another Colombian state of Norte de Santander. The military registered guerrilla engagement in the area although no casualties had yet been reported.

Furthermore, guerrillas launched an attack on a military base with unconventional weapons in the municipality of Fortul. No injuries or damages had been reported at time of publication.
