‘FARC extortionist’ arrested in south Colombia

Police on Tuesday arrested a suspected guerrilla member accused of extorting small businesses in the south of Colombia.

According to newspaper El Espectador, the 41-year-old Rogelio Claros Sanchez was captured and found to have letters that were being used as a record to keep track of the payments demanded of the local business owners.”

Claros Sanchez is allegedly a member of the FARC´s 3rd Front and according to authorities, in charge of extorting local business owners in the town of Florencia.

According to El Espectador a judge sent Claros Sanchez to a jail in the city of Florencia on charges of extortion and rebellion.
