Colombia news - FARC

An attack by guerrillas of the FARC left a number of villages in the east Colombian Arauca department without electricity.

The attack took place Tuesday in La Cabuya  and damaged an electric pylon.

ISA technicians are reviewing the electrical system in order to restore service, which has been suspended since 7.50 a.m. when the guerrillas set off an explosive charge at tower 153.

Seven municipalities have been left without electricity.

Staff of the Army’s 18th and 30th brigades are relocating to the area to provide the technicians with support, as there is a strong ELN and FARC presence in the region.
