Guaviare governor investigated for alleged links to ‘Cuchillo’

The Prosecution General’s Office started investigating the alleged ties
between Oscar López, governor of the eastern department of Guaviare,
and renowned drug trafficker and paramilitary boss Pedro ‘Cuchillo’
Guerrero.

According to the Chief Prosecutor Mario Iguarán, López is facing charges of conspiracy to commit a crime.

“We have an investigation against mister Governor and as part of this he must answer some questions. Therefore it is urgent that he is brought to justice,” Iguarán told Noticias Uno.

Iguarán has ordered his office to set a date for the indictment of the governor and to gather evidence to present to a judge.
