Grenade explosion in Cali leaves one dead

A 50 year old woman was killed after a grenade was thrown at a house in Cali’s northeast Thursday.

Authorities do not yet know who was responsible, reported newspaper El Espectador.

Neighbours ran after the attackers but could not catch them as they escaped by motorcycle.

The victim was close to her front door at the time and therefore took the full impact of the explosion.

The grenade also caused material losses. Police are investigating whether the attack was a settling of accounts between gangs, or if it was a diversion from another event near the attack.
