Government and ex-paramilitaries oppose new march

In a statement on colombialibre.org, the so-called say they are “surprised” by the initiative. The statement calls the initiative ” unusual” since the AUC has already been demobilized and its combattants are currently being reintegrate.The national government has asked the Colombian people not to take part in the protest, as in may work in favour of the FARC. According to residential advisor José Obdulio Gaviria in Colombian newspaper El Espectador, the FARC is promoting taking part in the march.
