Gay sex is repulsive: Colombian senator

Conservative Senator Roberto Gerlein exclaimed that gay sex is “excremental and deserves condemnation” during a tirade on homosexual unions in Congress Tuesday.

At the congressional discussion of a proposed gay marriage bill, Senator Gerlein stated that sex between men is “dirty, repulsive, it is sex that deserves condemnation and is excremental sex.”

The conservative senator’s bashing rant continued for what the website of weekly Semana claimed to be nearly 20 minutes, citing the Bible and using biology as a reason to condemn homosexuals.

“The homosexual has a smaller hypothalamus, it is a condition that comes imprinted in the biology of the homosexual, he has no way to remove it, he can visit all the psychiatrists and will still have no way to take it out. It is bad luck that nature imposes this burden on someone, because being homosexual is a burden.”

After some of the searing comments were made, the Senator conversely claimed that he was not prejudice and that he accepted homosexuals “because they are people” and that he had “highly intelligent homosexual friends.”

The Conservative senator’s speech caused outrage among fellow-lawmakers.

Gay marriage and civil union rights have been hot button topics in Congress, stirring up controversy with a proposed gay marriage bill in October. Further discussion of the bill has been postponed until next week.
