Galeras volcano erupts again

The Galeras volcano, located near the south Colombian city of Pasto,
erupted again Sunday morning. Authorities called a red alert and
ordered those living in the vicinity of the volcano to evacuate.

According to the national geology institute, “the volcano is in the process of reactivation. The activity does not stop and we must be vigilant if the volcano continues this type of activity. We are back to the beginning of the year, when the volcano erupted several times. The volcano can calm down, but continue a few days later.”

So far, there have been no reports on deaths, injuriesor material damage.
