The family of murdered Liberal Party leader Luis Carlos Galán wants the
Supreme Court to review the ruling if the Cundinamarca Superior
Tribunal that absolved former Senator Alberto Santofimio as mastermind
of the political murder.
The Cundinamarca high court overruled a guilty sentence by a lower judge that had ruled that Santofimio had given the order to have his political rival assassinated in 1989.
According to Caracol Radio, Colombia’s Prosecutor General would also be interested in taking the case to the Supreme Court.
