French journalist urge fast release of captured colleague

French journalists urged their president on Friday to hasten Romeo Langlois’ release.

The group of journalists sent a letter to French President Francois Hollande asking him to quickly send a delegate to help free Langlois, who has been held by the FARC since April 28,

They have not yet received a response from the government, Patrick Kamenka, one of Langlois’ colleagues, told RCN La Radio Friday.

“In the letter, we asked that the governments of France and Colombia use their utmost force to free him in good condition,” Kamenka said.

The French ambassador to Colombia told reporters that a delegate had been appointed to negotiate Langlois’ release on May 17.
