France will not interfere with Colombian politcs: Hollande

French President Francois Hollande said that France will not interfere with Colombia’s internal politics, Caracol radio reported Friday.

Hollande made the comments after meeting with French journalist Romeo Langlois, who had been abducted by the FARC for over a month and was released May 30.

Langlois brought back a letter from the FARC intended for Hollande, which said the guerrilla group is tired of war and that it wants a negotiated solution to the conflict.

Hollande responded to the message by stating that France will not get involved in Colombia’s internal politics in any way.

He added that he was grateful to the Colombian authorities for their efforts to free Langlois.

He insisted that “no deals” had been made and that “no negotiations” had taken place for the release of the journalist, reported Caracol radio.
