France urges FARC to release journalist Langlois

French ambassador to Colombia, Jean-Pierre van Doorne, urged the FARC to signal the release of journalist Romeo Langlois,

“After having met all the demands, the only thing left is for those detaining the journalist to tell us when and where he will be released, preferably without drums or trumpets”, Vandoorne said in an interview with Caracol Radio on Wednesday.

The rebel group’s request for the creation of a commission comprised of a personal representative of French President Francois Hollande, the International Commmittee of the Red Cross and former Colombian Senator Piedad Cordoba, was fullfilled several days ago, according to the ambassador.

Vandoorne said the commission is ready and waiting for a final confirmation from the FARC’s secretariat, its central governing body.
