Venezuela may extradite 4 Colombians

Colombia’s authorities are investigating if it is necessary for Venezuela to extradite four Colombians who where arrested in Venezuela, General Carlos Ramiro Mena Bravo, director of the judicial and intelligence branch of the Colombian police, told W Radio on Thursday.

The four Colombians were arrested during the rescue of a Venezuelan business man who had been kidnapped.

Venezuela will either extradited the alleged criminals or try them in Venezuelan courts.

“If legal requirements appear the Venezuelan government has expressed it will hand them over to Colombia,” Meno Bravo said.

On Wednesday, Venezuela extradited three suspected guerrillas to Colombia. Venezuela and the U.S. are awaiting Colombia’s official decision to extradite Venezuelan drug trafficker Walid Makled.
