4 Colombian soldiers die in ‘FARC’ attack

Four Colombian soldiers have died in an alleged FARC attack in the southern department of Putamayo early Monday morning, reported Colombian daily El Tiempo.

The confrontation with the FARC’s 32nd Front began at approximately 3am on a native Indian reservation in the rural area of Puerto Guzman.

The four dead were named as Jairo Pena, Diego Bustamante Giraldo, Dario Guerrero and Luis Humberto Cuasquer Reinel.

According to local official Carlos Pascue, the fighting began when the guerrillas attacked a police station and the Loma de Belen military base.
