Foundation that funded referendum doesn’t show up at hearing

Colombia’s Electoral Council still has no idea where the money came
from that funded the referendum about President Uribe’s re-election.
The representative of the mysterious foundation that donated $1 million
failed to show up at his hearing.

It’s the second time representative Carlos Alberto Jaramillo of Colombia Primero refused to appear before the council. According to newspaper El Espectador, the council will now subpoena the representative, obliging him to show and clarify where the foundation got the money for the referendum.

The referendum gathered millions of signatures of Colombians that demand a constitutional change to be able to re-elect current president Uribe. the organization of the referendum’s came under scrutiny, because it is refusing to disclose where the money came from to organize the popular vote and it became known teh logistics were sponsored by a DMG daughter company. DMG is suspected of being a pyramid scheme and laundering drug money.
