Former Miss Colombia hosts reality TV show

Former Miss Colombia and almost Miss Universe 2008, Taliana Vargas, hosts the
new version of the reality show ‘Desafio, la lucha de las regiones’
(Challenge, the fight of the regions).

In an interview with newspaper El Colombiano Vargas talked about her new job asides from catwalks and beauty contests. The work as a host of ‘Desafio’ left her with “a sour taste [her favorite taste], like a rip mango with salt. It was a wonderful experience, very enriching for my life. My debut as a host was incredible. I’m very satisfied, content and in love, not only with ‘Desafio’, but with the whole world of television,” former Miss Colombia said.

The 21-year-old admitted that she had to learn a lot: “Everything was new to me, I have never worked with huge technical equipment and so many people around … It was also a challenge to find the adequate voice to present the program.”

But Vargas had professional help and support of the show’s co-host Victor Mallarino. “He is a sly old fox who knows everything … He helped me a lot, he adopted and protected me in every moment,” Vargas said.

When asked whether she was afraid of the public’s reaction to her host’s debut, the 21-year-old said she did everything as she is, quiet and spontaneous. “The people know how I am and nothing is going to change that,” Vargas explained.
