The former beauty queen Maria Jose Barraza says she is not afraid to age, online magazine Cromos reported Thursday.
There is one very telling difference between Maria Josa Barraza’s official website and other celebrity webpages. Barazza publicizes her date of birth: July 13, 1970.
“Now that I am 41 I see things differently. I’ve never had problems with my age, why would it affect me? Obviously there are things that come with age but I’m at a time when I give importance to other things in life,” Barraza said.
Barraza was crowned third princess and Miss Silhouette in the 1991 Miss Colombia pageant and the World Tourism Queen in Spain in 1992. She began her career in television broadcasting with a seven-year stint as the presentor for the program “Magazin Carocal” (Carocol Magazine), meanwhile working as an anchor for the the Miss Colombia and Miss Universe pageants.
In recent years, the Cartagena native has been living in the United States, working as a correspondant for the U.S. network Telemundo.
Barraza moved back to Cartagena from Miami in June in search of a quieter life. She is quite happy with her new position as the host of the game show “Milliones por Montones” (Millions of Tons).
“I think women have times in life when everything changes,” the pageant and televison star said, musing over the important things in life.
“It’s not what happens, but how you react to it.”
