Forget Kylie, the Wailers are coming

After having received (and unfortunately robbed) Aussie pop diva Kylie
Minogue, Bogotá is getting ready for the mammoths of reggae; Bob
Marley’s former band The Wailers.

It’s a musically hectic week in Bogotá. Within one week there’s Colombia’s biggest music festival Rock Al Parque, Kylie Minogue kicked off her Latin American leg of ther X 2008 tour in Bogotá, Judas Priest is rocking and best of all the Wailers will be skanking Bogotá coming Friday and Medellín the day after.

The band, with 45 years of Jamaican music experience are best known for having reggae icon Bob Marley as one of their original members.

Despite the death of Marley and other founders like Peter Tosh, Junior Braithwaite and Cherry Smith, the Wailers still tour.

The two remaining original members Bunny Wailer and Beverley Kelso and a new breed of reggae musicians will perform at Bogotá’s Downtown Majestic.
