Colombia news - Faustino Asprilla

Colombia’s former national soccer player Faustino Asprilla will run
for the Senate elections in 2010 for coalition party Convergencia
Cuidadana, Caracol Television reported Friday.

Asprilla, one of the country’s best football players ever, will officially announce his candidacy sometime over the next few days the television station said.

The forty-year old ‘Octopus’ retired from soccer earlier this year and now devotes his time to coaching youngsters in the academy he set up himself.
