Foot and Mouth detected on Venezuelan border

According to a Colombian official, quoted by El Espectador, there have been no cases of FMD in Norte de Santander for over four years, when there was an outbreak in Tibú.The official is worried that in Venezuela last year 43 outbreaks were registered, while none were reported to the Colombian government.The Colombian government invested US$87 million in the eradication of the animal disease.
