Floods hit western Colombia

Flooding hit the western department of Risaralda Wednesday although no injuries were reported, according to local media.

Heavy rains affected the town of Mistrato, sweeping away cars and motorcycles. No houses were reported damaged.

President Juan Manuel Santos said that authorities were making their way to the region to assess damages and provide relevant aid to the town’s residents.
