Five family members massacred on Christmas day

Five people, all members of one family, were killed and one pregnant
woman was injured on an Arauca road when unknown men opened fire at the SUV they were
driving.

The department’s ombudsman Gloria Curitiva told Caracol Radio the family of ten was driving in the same vehicle on a road near the Venezuelan border when four heavily armed men on two motorcycles opened fire at the car, reportedly without aiming at specific persons.

Four men and one girl were killed in the attack. The suspects were able to get away. Apparently one was injured during the assault.

The injured pregnant women had to be rushed to hospital where the doctors performed a caesarian section to save the unborn child’s life.
