First ever all-female anti-riot squad

Colombia’s police force is set to be bolstered by its first all-female anti-riot squad.

The women have been in training, facing mock riots in order to prepare for real situations, at their training base in Santa Rosa de Viterbo, Boyaca.

The squadron of 55 anti-riot policewomen are expected to be on duty in mid-March, Caracol reports Thursday.
