First Colombian 3D movie finished

Production has finished on Colombia’s first 3D movie, “Circo Fantasia” (“Fantasy Circus”), directed by Raul Garcia.

The $2 million movie is about life in a 1950s circus and was filmed in Colombia, Venezuela, and Panama, and produced by a mixed Venezuelan-Colombian crew.

“It’s a family-oriented product that tells the story of a child living in a circus who is able to communicate with his mother who recently died; a gift that is exploited as a circus act and takes him to some unexpected situations,” Jose Rivero, director of production company Latina Producciones, told cultural website vive.in.

“We brought technology from Germany to show that it is possible to make 3D productions in Latin America and to create a climate … to produce content that can be sold abroad,” Rivero said.

The movie will be in theaters on December 15.
