Fashion forum bedazzles Barranquilla

K, the biggest fashion event on Colombia’s Caribbean coast, will take place in Barranquilla March 22-25, according to Proexport, the company which promotes Colombian exports and tourism.

The event, put on by Proexport and Barranquilla’s Chamber of Commerce, will showcase collections from Colombian designers for domestic and international buyers.

About 30 international buyers will come from the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Mexico, Chile, Ecuador and the United States to check out apparel for men and women, swimwear, leather good and jewelery.

The designers will show their collections not only during the business conference, which will take place at the Barranquilla Country Club, but the most innovative proposals will be displayed in runway shows that are scheduled for three days on the campus of the Universidad del Norte.

In addition, a forum to promote the development of the textile sector in Colombia will feature international speakers to discuss topics including the latest trends, colors and materials and market recognition.
