FARC to hand over remains of deceased hostage

Colombia’s largest rebel group FARC announced it will hand over the
remains of police mayor Julián Ernesto Guevera, who died in FARC
captivity in 2006.

In a letter sent to peace advocates Colombians for Peace the guerrillas say they will specify a time and place for the surrender any time soon.

In return the guerrillas want to remains of slain rebel commanders Raúl Reyes an Iván Ríos, who both died in 2008 and according to the rebels are in Government hands.

Guevara was kidnapped in March 1998 and died of illnesses due to his 8-year captivity in the jungle.
