FARC release proof-of-life video of hostage lawmaker

The video of Sigifredo Lopez was delivered to a commission that includes the Roman Catholic Church, Cali’s mayor and the public ombudsman’s office, according to Lopez’s wife, Patricia Nieto.It’s the first proof-of-life documentation of a hostage that the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, (FARC), has provided since February.López and his 11 colleagues were abducted from were kidnapped from inside the Department’s Assembly by guerrillas dressed as military personnel. The other eleven died in what the FARC said was “crossfire with unknown enemy forces.” The Government accused the guerrillas of having executed them and denies having been in the area at that time.
