FARC leader ‘Mono Jojoy’ dying from diabetes

One of the FARC’s most senior leaders, ‘Mono Jojoy’ is dying from
diabetes, Miami based newspaper El Nuevo Herald reported Friday. He
doesn’t have the access to the insulin he needs, because ofthe military pressure on his camp.

“They can not take the inslin to the camp he needs to inject every day and that is killing him,” judicial investigators told the newspaper.

‘Mono Jojoy’, whose real name is Victor Julia Suárez Rojas, is one of the most senior members of the guerrilla that’s been fighting the Colombian State for nearly 45 years.

The bad health of ‘Mono Jojoy’ was known for more than a year, but recent deserters say that the state of leader of FARC’s first front “is terminal”.

The Colombian government, considering the state of health of ‘Mono Jojoy’, on numerous occasions called on the guerrilla leader to surrender and be treated.
