Dutch Tanja Nijmeijer hosts 1st FARC newscast on Colombia peace talks

Colombia’s largest rebel group FARC on Tuesday launched its own newscast to break what they call a “media offensive” against them. The show is hosted by Dutch guerrilla Tanja Nijmeijer.

The news show hosted on YouTube is anchored by Nijmeijer, nom de guerre “Alexandra Nariño,” and guerrilla communications expert “Boris Guevara.”

The rebel newscast will focus on the ongoing peace process between the government and the FARC and will broadcast a new show every two days from Havana, Cuba, where the talks are held.

The first broadcast featured an interview with another member of the peace delegation “Rodrigo Granda” and a presentation of the 10 minimum proposals on victims reparations published by FARC on Saturday.
