‘FARC’ kills 6 policemen in southwestern Colombia

Alleged FARC fighters have killed six policemen in the southwest of Colombia, local media reported Monday.

According to the reports, the policemen were assaulted by guerrillas while on patrol in a rural area in the north of the Cauca department.

Police said they suspected the FARC’s 6th front to be behind the attack.

The attack came on the same day that Defense Minister Juan Carlos Pinzon announced that since August 27, the day the FARC and the government announced to hold peace talks, 50 guerrillas have been killed.
