Colombia’s largest rebel group FARC killed more than 300 of its
hostages, Ervin Hoyos of Caracol Radio’s Las voces del secuestro
(voices of abduction) said Tuesday.
Hoyos claims he received information of the fate of hundreds of hostages through his radio show’s cooperation with Manos por Paz, a non governmental organization formed by former guerrillas.
Statements made by demobilized guerrillas who joined the NGO show the FARC killed at least 300 of the hostages it held.
Some of these testimonies include names of victims and where they are buried and could put an end to the insecurity some Colombian families have lived with for years.
Colombia’s vice-President Francisco Santos mentioned in late 2008 the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia killed the majority of their hostages and held no more than 200 hostages.
