FARC kill 2 policemen in Caqueta

Two policemen died in an attack by Colombia’s oldest and largest rebel
group FARC in the Caqueta department, authorities announced Monday.

The two officers were protecting an electricity power in the municipality of El Doncello when Sunday members of FARC front Teofilo Forero detonated a bomb, attacked the men with weapons and then burned their bodies, the police told local media.

The victims were identified as Omar Galdino and Carlos Tocaria.

The police found two other 90-kilogram explosive devices at the place of the attack which did not detonate. The police believe they were meant to be activated when the rescue and support for the two officers arrived.
