FARC kill 1, injure 4 soldiers in southwest Colombia combat

One Colombian soldier was killed and four were injured in clashes with the FARC in southwestern Colombia on Tuesday.

Clashes between the army and the FARC have been ongoing in Putumayo department since Sunday when four soldiers were killed on an Indian reservation nearby.

The latest casualties occurred in the village of Mira Flores de la Selva in the municipality of Puerto Guzman, Putumayo north. These soldiers were members of the 27th Jungle Brigade.

The wounded soldiers were taken to the Jose Maria Hernandez hospital in the town of Mocoa for treatment.
