The murder of a Caqueta policeman gives authorities clues as to the rebel organization’s new strategy to eliminate opposition.
Authorities reported the murder of a police lieutenant in the town of Solita, Caqueta, when five men, allegedly FARC members, entered the restaurant and shot him.
A child of two years was injured in the shooting and taken by helicopter to the city of Neiva.
Preliminary investigations indicate that it appears that the FARC will be implementing a gun plan against members of the security forces in the area of Caqueta, reports newspaper El Espectador.
This could be a new modus operandi for the guerrilla group, in which members of the Armed Forces are assassinated in correspondence with the number of guerrillas killed in military attacks.
