A FARC guerrilla demobilized and handed himself over to the police
after ten years as a member of the illegal left-wing organization.
The 26 year old guerrilla known as ‘Eliseo’ was accepted into the Government’s demobilization program, where he will be reintegrated into society.
He joined the 59th Martin Caballero front of the FARC on February 7, 1999.
Upon his demobilization he turned in an M-16 A1 assault rifle, two grenades, four suppliers with 90 rounds of ammunition and a range rover.
His surrender comes on the eve of the 45th anniversary of the guerrilla group.
