FARC guerrilla convicted of murdering Caqueta governor

A Colombian judge convicted a FARC guerrilla of the murder of Caqueta governor Luis Francisco Cuellar in December 2009.

Diver Duvan Calderon Parra, alias “Correcaminos”, was found guilty of aggravated homicide, kidnapping for extortion, treachery and rebellion by a judge in the Caqueta capital of Florencia.

The kidnapping of a politician of the caliber of Cuellar was the first since 2002.
