FARC emissaries identified in Europe

Colombian intelligence agencies Wednesday identified three alleged emissaries of the FARC in Europe, local media reported.

According to the authorities, Ovidio Salinas alias ‘Juan Antonio Rojas’, Simon Leguizamon alias ‘Hernan Ramirez’ and Alberto Martinez are the delegates of the International Commission of the FARC in Europe.

The emissaries are responsible for buying arms from mostly Russian, Croatian and Lebanese arms trafficker.

Ovidio Salinas is said to be the leader of the International Commission in Europe while Alberto Martinez allegedly focuses on the propaganda of the FARC with the news agency Anncol, Café Stereo and the magazine Resistencia.

Simon Leguizamon allegedly focuses on the missile purchase and moves constantly between Denmark, Switzerland, Belgium and Germany.

The FARC annually have around US$3 million at their disposal for the purchase of arms.
