Colombia’s armed forces say that soldiers from the army’s fourth division have  killed the leader of the fifty-second division of the FARC, who is presently known only as “Robin.”

Fighting had broken out in the Meta department near the village of Villa Lucia when “Robin” was shot and killed in the skirmish; another FARC operative, a female known as “Pilar” was also wounded and captured, said the army.

Authorities believe that “Robin” had been a FARC operative for some 24 years, participating in combat, roadblocks and vehicle burnings throughout his career. It is thought that he took part in the taking of military compounds in the 1990s.

The military additionally reported that they simultaneously seized weapons, ammunition, repair equipment and various documents.
