FARC attack memorial march and kill policeman

Colombia’s biggest rebel group FARC attacked military and police who were
hiking on the Liberty Route. One policeman was killed, lcoal media
reported Wednesday.

The FARC attacked horsemen of the military and police in Alto de la Virgen, Casanare department, who were hiking on the Liberty Route in memory of liberator Simon Bolivar.

The attack left one policeman dead.

According to authorities, members of the FARC’s 28th front attacked the officials after which nearby security forces fought back.

The army and police officials who are taking part in the march insist on continuing the march.
