‘FARC attack’ kills 3 soldiers

An attack reportedly carried out by the FARC in the Tolima department left three soldiers dead and two seriously injured, Colombian media reported Friday.

The attack against the army members, thought to have been carried out by the FARC’s 21st Front, took place in the municipality of Chaparral in the southern zone of Tolima.

The injured soldiers were transferred to a hospital in Ibague, according to reports from the authorities.

This was the second FARC attack in the municipality within the last 48 hours, where early Thursday morning a patrol was ambushed, leaving two injured.
