Family of first fatal AH1N1 victim says doctor were negligent

The parents of the first deadly AH1N1 victim in Colombia say the doctors were negligent in the treatment of their daughter.

According to her parents, Francy Milena Arias never received any anti-viral treatment and was only given medication against the symptoms of the swine flu.

The girl’s father said he learned through the media his daughter had died of the swine flu. “One of the doctors told me that he regretted the death, because it was a very strange death,” he told Canal Caracol.

Arias died on June 6 of the virus that has infected at least 27 others in Colombia.
