Falcao scoops GQ’s ‘Sportsman of the Year’ award

Colombia soccer sensation Radamel Falcao was named Sportsman of the Year by men’s magazine GQ on Monday.

Falcao accepted the award at a ceremony in a hotel in the Spanish capital of Madrid where he was accompanied by his radiant wife Lorelei Taron.

“El Tigre” was swarmed by paparazzi and had to fend off questions regarding his future at Atletico Madrid after rumors surrounding his future at the Spanish soccer club.

“I can only say I am very happy here and I am enjoying the time I’m having at Atletico Madrid. My objective is to continue to score goals and achieve great things with my team.” he said

2012 has been a great year for Falcao and in his typical modest fashion he acknowledged his teammates before anything else, saying, “I can only thank my mates at Atletico and in the Colombian team, because thanks to them I achieve these things.”
