Falcao launches ‘Brand Colombia’ initiative in Spain

Soccer idol Radamel Falcao launched a new “Brand Colombia” Wednesday aimed at encouraging Colombian’s living in Spain to watch his Atletico Madrid team.

The 26-year old Colombian soccer star appeared in a short video in which he thanks fans for buying tickets to Atletico’s next La Liga match against Getafe on Sunday.

Atletico reserved 3,000 tickets for Colombian’s living in Spain, 2,000 of which have already been sold at a discounted price of eight euros.

Falcao encouraged more Colombian’s to go to the Vincente Calderon stadium, saying that it was a good chance to share “all together the joy mega talent on show.”

He added, “we will be proud to see many of my people in the stadium, in Madrid.”

Falcao, or “El Tigre” as he is known, is one of a number of high-profile soccer players in Europe along with James Rodriguez and Jackson Martinez both of Portuguese side Porto.
