Colombian striker Radamel Falcao has announced his “dream” of winning this year’s Copa America soccer tournament, as well as the 2014 World Cup.
“In my heart I am carrying the dream of going and winning the Copa [America],” said Falcao.
The FC Porto forward told newspaper El Espectador Tuesday that he wants the people to believe in the national selection, adding, “I dream of being champion of this tournament [Copa America], as well as the World Cup. That is my mentality, if not, it would be better for me to stay in the house.”
The former River Plate star will return to Argentina in July to begin his quest for the cup. Colombia will meet Central American powerhouse Costa Rica first, followed by clashes between Argentina and Bolivia in a bid to qualify for group A, reported Goal.com.
“We are 40 million Colombians, only 11 on the field representing the country, but behind [us] are all of you celebrating and crying. We are all the same people: to the Copa America we will go, 40 million and to the World Cup with the same number of people,” said Falcao to fans, in a fiery call for support.
