Expelled foreigners were journalists

Two of the three foreigners who were expelled by Colombia’s
intelligence service DAS during the cane cutters strike were
journalists, trying to report the strike. They deny participating in
the protest in any way like the DAS had claimed.

The French told Noticias Uno police had made copies of the photos they made and wouldn’t tell them why they had been arrested and were to be expelled until they arrived in the offices of the DAS in Bogotá and were about to be expelled.

The foreigners had entered the country on tourist visas and were accused of actively supporting the protest by the sugar cane cutters that’s still going on. The workers demand better working conditions.
