Ex-paramilitary sentenced for 26 murders

A former paramilitary was sentenced to 48 years in jail for his involvement in 26 murders committed in the department of Meta.

Rusbell Sneyder Diaz Agudelo, alias ‘Gordo’ confessed before a Villavicencio prosecutor that he was the perpetrator or co-perpetrator in the 26 murders carried out in the Meta capital between March 14 and December 6, 2003.

‘Gordo’ was sentenced to 26 years in jail for the assassination of fomer mayor Omar Lopez Robayo and a further 22 years for the murder of state prosecutor Tomos Garzon Roa
