A weekend in Bogota

In Bogota for the weekend? Here’s a list of the top events in the Colombian capital in the next few days.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 8

Rush concert

This progressive rock band will be at Centro Cultural Gabriel Garcia Marquez (Calle 11 # 5-60) starting at 4PM. Andres Duran will discuss the legacy of the group.

14th Annual Hip Hop in the Park Festival

On Friday and Saturday, a hip hop festival featuring hip hop acts, DJs, graffiti artists, MCs, and break dance crews from around the world takes place in Simon Bolivar Park.

Bogotattoo Festival

The Downtown Majestic (Cra 7 # 27-46) will host the first Bogotattoo Festival for lovers of tattoo art. Over 100 exhibitors will be present, and the festival runs from the 8-10 with the best of this art.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 9

Juan Amarillo wetland tour

The Institute of Cultural Heritage invites you to enjoy the natural beauty of the Juan Amarillo wetlands, on an ecological walk. The wetlands are located in Suba, western Bogota.

Rumba with Orquesta Aragon from Cuba

La Orquesta Aragon will be playing the Teatro Jorge Eliecer Gaitan (Cra 7 ª # 22-40) at 8PM

Halloween Games for Children

Religion in Teusaquillo

The neighborhood mosque of “La Soledad” and several churches will be visited during this free walking tour which begins at 10AM. Register here.

Last performance of “La Traviata”

Don’t miss the last night of “La Traviata.” The production, directed by Daniel Lipton, will be in the Teatro de Bellas Artes de Bogota (Cra 68 # 90-88).
