During a meeting with Uribe in the Casa de Nariño, the EU coordinator said that the three economies are interdependent. An instability of the markets would lead to insecurity in the region which worries Europe, the official told local media.
De Kerchove also approved the agreement between Colombia and the United States to authorize the presence of U.S. military bases in Colombia. The official considered the cooperation and exchange of information and intelligence with the North Americans in the fight against terrorism to be good.
Furthermore, De Kerchove announced that the European Union demands an explanation about the Victim’s Law and said for the EU it is important that there is no differentiation of victims.
